The SFWU and NZNO invite supporters to be present at the hearing of the appeal on the Equal Pay Act case starting next Monday in the Court of Appeal. The details are below.
|“Service and Food Workers Union Nga Ringa Tota is an organising union. This means we are a collective of workers who are about improving the lives of workers and working for a fair and just society by organising for strength, power and unity on the job, in our industries, our communities and society as a whole”|
On Monday 3rd February (next Monday) the Court of Appeal will hear the historic case of Kristine Bartlett v Terra Nova – the Equal Pay case.
It would be great if Wellington based unionists and supporters could take a few minutes to join Kristine and the SFWU and NZNO from 1.30 pm on Monday 3rd February outside the Court on the Corner of Molesworth and Aitken Street (opposite Parliament). We are expecting good media interest and will have delegates present and would appreciate supporters joining us to support Kristine and the thousands of other women affected by this case.
For those not able to join with us on Monday the case is set for two days, the afternoon of the 3rd and all day on the 4th.
Please circulate to all affiliates with our very sincere invitation to attend and/or send messages of support.
Messages can be sent c/o firstname.lastname@example.org or phone messages to 0272456593.
